Test on Tue. and wed.

There will be a test on the Civil War on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Students have spent the last 2 class periods reviewing. They have a matching and fill in the blank sheets they can study from as well as a sheet with a series of review questions. They have seen the test and should know what is on it.

The end of the 3rd quarter is Friday. There is no school on Friday for students.

Introduction Paragraph on Bull Run

The students are writing a scored Introductory paragraph about the events at Bull Run. They are only writing an introduction. The paragraph is from the perspective of a Southerner. Day one is due Wed. and Day 2 is due Thur. Here is the rubrics that it is being scored on:

Runaway Slave diary entries due Tuesday

Students have been learning about the Underground Railroad and life before the Civil War. They have 3 diary entries to write as a runaway slave as if they were on the Underground railroad. It will be due for everyone on Tuesday.

Slave Letter


Students have been learning about slavery in the US. They are to write a letter explaining why slavery is wrong. They need 5 reasons for an A. Everyone should get an A.

End of quarter

The end of the quarter is today. We have not had any traditional assignments because there has been in class work and a mini-project due.

Starting Monday there will be a new unit. We will be now transitioning to learning history with the topic of the Civil War.

Please welcome Ms. Becker. She will be student teaching with me in SS second semester. There will now be more assignments than last month, so please keep checking.
